| Gear nut | Recording and management of library
Hi Everyone, I just have a few questions when it comes to library management. Which is better: Recording Source, slating it properly etc, and having that one file with metadata tags, or once it's recorded separate each individual element, and tag those individually? Thanks! |

I slate as much as I can when I record. If you don't slate, it makes it that much harder when you go back to files months or years later. I try to name the source files something descriptive and put them in a folder that makes sense, so I can find them later without too much trouble. I say that I try, I can't say that I always do this.... The source files do not go into my database. My edited files are named and tagged as descriptive as possible and added to my database. |
