Online SFX/BG/Etc library? Is there a need?

Hey everyone,

I've been rolling an idea around in my head about creating an online SFX/BG library, hosting high quality audio files, for use in features (my focus would be primarily low-budget indies at the start).

I know of a few of these sorts of sites that exist already, some of them in which you pay for libraries and some of which you don't pay at all for community-driven audio. So I know this isn't exactly an original idea.

My thing is that i'm on the go quite a bit - traveling for work on productions or just travel in general. I see and hear LOTS of different places, and where i've been capturing these environments for my own pleasure in cameras - I feel like I could easily start capturing them in recorded audio as well.

My major question is - you, as the SFX/BG editor with the library you already have... could you/would you use somewhere online that you could easily browse through single tracks/packs of HIGH QUALITY audio files and download them on the super cheap for a single fee?

The hope would be that the combination of the range of audio, the quality of the audio, and the price itself would at least make the place worth a look and worth supporting. My concern is that most people are so used to their own libraries or get things passed around from friends enough that something like this wouldn't really get used.

Thanks for any feedback!

There is always room for more libraries. I would refer you to this thread in which people are offering their work online: http://www.gearslutz.com/board/f97/n...es-489796.html
