Bypassing 002 converters with Rosetta 200

Hello friends! I need help!!!

This is what I have done so far:

U87i to Avalon737 to one of the analogs input on the Rosetta 200

From Rosetta 200 s/pdif output to Digi 002 Rack s/pdif input

What is the best way to connect the 002 rack to the console in order to:

1. Be able to monitor PT on the console and pick up my voice-over recordings without feedback?

2. Without changing the setting be able to set up a mix minus woth my Zephyr Xstream ISDN codec for long distance recording sessions?

Thank you in advance for your valuable information!!! Appreciated!

well, bypassing the 002 can be a good thing. It sounds liek you've figured that out with the rosetta - stay digital into the rack.

On the console, well that's normally just outs from the 002 into the ins of the console. Sounds like you're using the console for monitoring, not much else. most will skip the console and go into a monitor controller for playback, if you're stereo only then the mackie big knob works great.

if you're determined to use the console, then bringing back a recording into the console won't give you feedback - it's only when you're recording and listening at the same time in the same room in front of the speakers that you'll get a loop feedback.

the way to bypass that is to turn the speaker volume down when recording, usually you can just mute.

for the ISDN, well if you're speaking about recording a source from far away, then just send the output of the zephyr into the line in of the 002 and monitor off the console. they should have foldback at there end so they can hear if it was good or not. for people at your studio, most use a phone patch, or skype to have 2-way conversation from directors.
