Program to import Meta Data

Are there any programs to import meta data? I know Sound Miner does it but I only have Audio Finder. I know there used to be a program called MetaEdit but I don't think that exists anymore. Any ideas other than getting Sound Miner?

What are you trying to import metadata into? SoundGrinder and Monkeytools have very good metadata facilities. But there is just plain BWAV lister or you can use SoundDevice's WAV-Agent, which is FREE, FREE!

Sorry for my ignorance...

I thought meta data was stored in the wave header? I want to import meta information from a spreadsheet in xls format into wav files. Is this something easily done?

Is this for commercial libraries (like Sound ideas) or for your own sounds?

In any case, look up Injector by BaseHead and ifoundaCD (free, windows).

EDIT: no, sorry ifoundaCD doesn't do the metadata, only filenames....

yes, if you do it with soundminer or injector. all other options I know of is a record-by-record copy-paste procedure.

AFAIR there is a free and open source command-line utility for simple BWF-chunk editing by EBU, so, if you have a programmer at hand, it would be fairly simple to make a script that sequentially reads a tab-delimited DB file (that you export from a spreadsheet) and injects the data into files one by one.

Yes, it is for sound ideas libraries. I'll look into injector. I do have access to programmers so thats definitely an option too. Maybe I can get somebody to put something together using Automator.

Thanks for the help!
