Portable Wav Editor @ 192 Khz

Please chime in if you know of quality wav editor that can run on a mac @ 24bit 192Khz. Obviously I'd prefer to use Protools but seeing that Digi makes it impossible to do work at 192 on the road I've got to use something else. I guess I'll need to buy an interface as well. ARGH

I'm looking for something similar to protools in terms of its editing capabilities i.e. sample editing. Plugins and other instruments don't concern me.

I've looked at Logic, Cubase and Nuendo, but haven't used any of them enough to know if they are capable of detail editing.

And yes I HAVE to work at 192.

Thanks in advance.

John

- Nothing like owning three protools rigs and I still can't do what I need to.

Nuendo can be setup to work somewhat similar to PT. Check out "edit mode". You can also customize all the shorcuts - there's even an .xml file floating around the net that you can import and get most of the command-keys to get you started. However, they are not the same, so prepare to invest some time into discovering alt workflows to replace your PT ones.

BIAS Peak Pro will do what you ask - if 2-track is OK for you. You will of course need a 192khz capable interface, as you've surmised.

Give Reaper a try. Customizable, fast, render queue, batch conversion, great support community. Cheap too.

Has live resampling, if you want to edit your 192kHz material with interfaces that don't support it. Just change the project sample rate to 192kHz before rendering. No problem.

And did I mention stable? The alphas are more stable than Protools ever was. No dongle either.
