sending a 2 track to someone who said they are going to buy a beat?

An artist hit me up for beats. I named my price and sent him a link to my website with more beats on it. He said wanted to buy a couple of beats. I told him the way I do things is this: once I get the payment, he will get the tracked out beat. Today, he asked for the 2 track so he could show his artist. Do you think I should send him the 2 track? Do you think I should send him a low quality version? Should I add some white noise periodically throughout the beat?

create your demo"beats" and then add a test tone across them so they can't be stolen....

yup Geo beat me to it. I used to sell "beats" or "tracks " to producers, call em what you will. I would put two test tones 1khz and 500 running through the whole thing and remove them upon payment. explain that they need to remove the tone in their mind. I have even seen this done with sound effect premixes being sent online to clients. I have learned it's better to have trustworthy clients, but with the music world use the tone

thanks for the suggestions guys : )

This is my first time working with them so I'm not sure if they are trustworthy or not. I feel like they are, but you never know and it's better to be safe than sorry
