Click/Pop Wierdness

So I was mixing yesterday, and there was a click/pop in one of the soundbytes, (a scene from old footage but the click sounded like a digital error or something that happened upon ingest) anyways, I tried X-click and X-crackle to no avail, so then I tried to manually remove it, that wasn't working out either, the dip to silence was too noticeable, and it was sync sound so I couldn't move the region around to cover the gap, so I hit undo a couple of times, to the point where the region had only the original cut, and instead of hitting undo one last time I used command H. The click disappeared. I don't know how, it was awesome. Anything like this ever happen to any of you? does anyone have any tips/tricks they'd like to share when it comes to clicks/pops when noise removal plugins don't work?

sounds like an issue you might have fixed earlier but not noticed. Command + H is 'HEAL', meaning to remove the cut in the region you made.

Usually if you can't fix, try and copy audio from another section to replace, but this only works some of the time, and is program dependent.

I'll Duplicate the region and then zoom way in and use the pencil tool, which sometimes lets me draw a smoother, better sounding line. Sometimes not though & I get a 'Famp' instead of a 'tic'.

It's funny how a ProTools discussion goes without saying ProTools on a general forum.

I'd reach for reNOVAtor for this kind of problem first, and see if I could get away w/o an artifact once I took the offending sound out. It might could be that you'll need an incremental approach with a few different tools chipping away at it.
