Mixing audio to video in post

Hey guys im new to doing live video work. And am about to start filming the band i work for. We will have 2-3 cams going. And also doing seperate 24 track recording into a DAW which i can later mixdown.

Do i mixdown to stereo and then cut and shape my timeline around the audio, which clips i want etc... I may have lets say 3 different clips during that 1 drum fill that kind of thing. But i would like to be able to mixdown while watching the footage to give it more feel and bite ya know or am i not making sense???

Hoping to get some help and clear my thoughts on this my brain is a bit scrambled.

Give them a rough mix to cut picture to, and after they've done their edit then conform your MT to the cut and mix it to picture, like you said.

Well hopefully ill be editing, cutting, mixing, etc... So then like i was thinking Mixdown rough, cut to rough mix, (what conform to MT.. media timecode?), then final mix my audio to the final timeline then replace the rough audio mix with the new "final" mix...

Thanks
