Just watch modern cartoons... I don't think all sounds are pure cartoon-like... There are lots of natural sounds, treated and prepared right way. But it depends of the movie. Kuba |

There really are not any specific libraries for modern cartoons. As Kuba said, most of them use a lot of Sci-Fi sounds, foley and processed effects from the typical collection of sound FX libraries. Some of the humor effects still come from the old Disney, Warner and Hanna Barbara libraries. I used a lot of Hollywood Edge, works and sound designer's toolkits, plus syths and a lot of foley when I was doing cartoons.

Hollywood Edge has Cartoon Trax. It's a pretty good collection, but it's been out for a number of years. I think that HE is generally a fresher sounding libraray than a lot of the Sound Ideas stuff though.

I do cartoons almost exclusively and I cant really point to any specific modern cartoon library. The HB stuff is still used but mainly when you are going for overkill or want an iconic sound that the viewer will recognize. These days, I'm using modern SFX libraries coupled with quite a bit of musical samples and synths.

right here Cartoon Sound Effects try the Cartoon Music, Cartoon Sound Design, and Cartoon Voice categories. all the sfx are available as single downloads (so your not buying what you don't need) and come as 48k aiffs, 44.1 wavs, and mp3s |
