| Lives for gear | What have you found to be a good 32" video monitor?
What have you found to be a good TV monitor in the 32" range? 1080P or 720P 60 Hz or 120 Hz. All I need it for is monitoring of video during mix to pix and for editing use. (Sony Vegas). We are currently using a Panasonic 26 inch which is GREAT but no quite big enough for clients. I have looked at Panasonic, Vizio and Samsung but there are also a lot of other brands. I am looking for something with good color and a fast refresh rate. Should have a couple of HDMI inputs and I could care less about the on board audio. Thanks in advance for any and all ideas.

I had the production company pick up 2 Vizio 32" monitors. It has 3 HDMI inputs. While mixing, I use the PT DVI output to HDMI in via adapter. During final viewing, I have an SWR5800 attached using an Aja SDI/HDMI converter, and 1080P looks amazing. As long as you dont care about audio, they have a nasty 500Hz resonation. .

We have a couple of Vizio monitors around and I have one Vizio TV in my bedroom which I like very much. The one problem with Vizio is that they don't seem to be consistently good across their product line and I had to look a long time before choosing the 32" for my bedroom. Some of their monitors don't look good at all and some are OUTSTANDING. I will keep your suggestion in mind. |

I asked editors who come in here to mix w/ their (our) clients what they thought I should get, and they felt that Sony/Bravia would be the most consistent with what they see in edit rooms, so that's what I got. Philip Perkins |

| Lives for gear | We have a Sony XBR in our main video studio but this is mainly for sound and some editing. Thanks for the suggestion.
