Thread Starter | Are there any other to picture composers who use a hybrid system?
I currently mostly mix ITB in Logic for picture stuff as it's such quick turnaround work. I've mixed on SSL 4000, Euphonix CS3000, Neve before so I know that there really 'is' a difference between ITB and OTB [ obviously a good engineer makes a difference as well ]. Is there anyone else who works to picture and uses/utilizes an analogue system that's 'efficient' enough to let you change from one project to another quickly a few times a day? if so what system do you use? Pro Tools [ for zero-ish latency ] with patched in analogue outboard? or a AWS900 [ recall-able ], SSL Matrix, etc? or is just everyone ITB now? love to hear how others work when tight on time. |

Stefan Sagmeister - winner of the Lucky Strike Designer Award 2009 on Vimeo For this work (which contained three more pieces without voice overs) I used Cubase 5 with RME HDSPe MADI going into a DM2000 mixer. I like to stay digital and using a mixer. I got the videos from the computer animation company in QT 720p and just had it running in a separate window on my second monitor. To switch between projects is easy with this combo of a 'box' with a digital mixer. | |
