Wow, what a night!! I'm so pleased that the Academy gave this small film the attention it deserves. Especially considering all the other wonderful pictures it was up against. Good job team!

I was sort of proud to see that the winners for Sound gave the classiest acceptance speeches of the night. Congratulations, way to represent, well done all around.

Thanks everyone!! It's nice that all the hard work that Paul, and everyone on the team did, get the recognition it deserves.

Respect goes out to all the extremely talented sound crews that worked on the other nominated movies.

Congratulations to the team on this one. It's nice to see that dialog driven film can still win. Great dynamics, some very subtle uses of sound and the detail was outstanding. Nice work Santacore!

Ok, finally had to go and get myself a copy of the film and just watched it in the studio in its full 5.1 glory! Nice!

Its a very sparce soundtrack with dialog and Foley driving most of the film but in a very effective way. The way sound was used to tell the story and drive the tension was great. I liked how a lot of the backgrounds dissapeared whenever we were in "hostile" territories and in the middle of the unknown. It felt that by taking out all backgrounds/ambiences and focusing only on what was on screen (foley,etc...) the audience was being restricted as to waht they saw and thus placed in the same area of unknown territory as the characters. Very subtle and nice use of sound to drive the storytelling

Congrats once again!

Damn, now you know our trick!!! Just kidding. Yeah, Paul is really into simplifying things, and really giving specific events their time to shine, whether it be foley, or some huge explosion or gunshot. We're all excited after last nights sweep, and we're also very thankful that Paul got us all involved in the film in the first place. Good work team!

I personally feel very fortunate to have been involved in several of his films in the last few years, including mixing with Sam Raimi and Bob Murawski on Drag Me To Hell.

Two of my favourite (could possibly BE my two favourite) sounding movies of 2009; Drag me to Hell and The Hurt Locker.

Kudos and continued success and getting good projects that trust the fine sound people.

Right on the money! This was one of the few films I've seen where the sound choices play a major role in driving the emotion/tension. I also noticed the "closed in" / lack of BG's in the hostile areas. This really made Foley the star of the show in many scenes. What a great choice! 90% of the time, we'd way over Sound Design those types of scenes. Sometimes way less is way more!

Also, I loved the Dialog panning choices throughout the film.

Great job guys!!

+1..I am with you, I really liked the movie but through out the year there have been a lot better movies.

PS. I am in no way attacking the Foley work, just my opinion of the movie!
