region exports

Hey,

Simple question...

What is the most efficient way of exporting a lot seperate regions from pro tools to process in a standalone app like Izotope RX, and then reimporting them to their original timecode position?

I am aware that you can use this unit as an RTAS plugin.

Thanks.

Probably not the most efficient, but I consolidate the region, then drag it to Izotope from the "audio files" folder (sorted by most recent).

I've been told that you can then "save", as opposed to "save as", and protools will then play the altered sound file. I'm too much of a wimp to do that; I always "save as" and drag the new file into my session and line it up to the consolidated region.

Would love to hear of a more efficient way if one exists.

p.s. I prefer Izotope as a stand-alone app too.

hmm you bring up a good point... You could duplicate the file then consolidate it then process the duplicate in place? This works?

If you want to be really tricky, you could duplicate and keep the file in an active track-

You can then process it in the RX app, and the results will be automatically updated in the protools track.

Can anyone help me with this issue ? I'm trying to send a session by email and my file was over a gig an a half, so I selected unused regions to remove them to make it smaller not knowing deleting them will get them out your Audio folder. Is there a way to to find out just in your Audio folder with out going through every track ? anyway to now delete unused regions being that its saved.
