Unless of course the landlord is one of the producers! LOL! Seriously... happened to us once upon a time... But point is well taken, and that was the exception, not the rule...

The post sound budget for a decent-small sized feature down here in Argentina is around 12 to 15k... And it can go down to around 9k much too often...
The standard rate we have is around u$s 800.- a week for editing, ADR is usually charged by the hour (aprox. u$s 40.-) and a Dolby-THX mixing stage can charge from u$s 650 to u$s 800 a day. First class foley would add about u$s 4000.- to the whole budget, but local producers are rarely willing to pay for it.
Prices are so different, but the stories are very much the same...
