pro tools89 all versions) will not work in win 7 32 bit, HELP!!!

I have win 7 professional 32 bit
mbox 2pro with Pro Tools 8 LE
intel core i5 cpu 750 @ 2.67ghz
4gb dual channel ddr3 ram
Asus P7P55D Motherboard
Seagate 7200 rpm hdd 1 TB

None of the Pro Tools versions not 8.0, 8.001, 8.03 or the 8.04 optional driver work with Pro tools on my computer. All the versions work with all other devices such as FL9, Winamp, Quicktime Pro and others and play back-record audio.

All the 8 versions of Pro Tools start up fine without error messages, but then I hear no audio, nor can I record audio!
When I then close Pro Tools, None of the other above mentioned programs will play audio anymore, even if I change from asio to any other sound device.
The 8.04 driver I installed made pro tools not see the m box 2 pro which I anticipated as it clearly says not for m box 2 pro on the guidelines. I have no idea why only PT won't work on this system. It has become clear that it must be Pro Tools not recognizing the m box, I have no other explanation. Now please don't tell me to reconfigure my hdd, as this is bogus!

Please anyone help?

I did check the i/o uninstalled and reinstalled everything again and again, of course on the same hdd the os is on and so forth. I cannot conceive why this keeps happening.

I have never personally had to do this, but.... You should be able to get PT 7.4 via your Digi acct. You aren't forced to use PT 8.

It should be as far as I know.

I prefer PT8 because it allows me to mix 5.1

Also I doubt PT 7.4 would work with win 7.

Seriously considering buying another hdd and installing xp pro on it...

unless someone can help...

PT 7 has a better chance running on your machine than 8 right now. It may inconvenience you for the moment. But do you really need to mix in 5.1 immediately. If no, bite the bullet and wait for Digi to put out the patch.

My experience w/ Digi is that they mean exactly what they say in their compato docs....

Send a message via AIM to Fajita
Digi has not posted a Win 7 compatible version of Pro Tools. You will have to wait or do the XP drive thing you mentioned earlier.

Good Luck.
