| Is there a way to calibrate an SPL meter with measurement mic? I have a new uncalibrated SPL meter and no access to a calibrated meter. But I do have a measurement mic! Any ideas/suggestions greatly appreciated. thanks |

| Gear addict | where did you get an uncalibrated SPL meter? Don't they usually come calibrated from the factory?

| Gear maniac | It might be in good shape right out of the box. I saw a +/- disclaimer that made me think I needed to calibrate my radioshack digital SPL meter. But I took it with me to a screening at the tisch dolby theater in nyc and had the projectionist give me some tones while I sat 2/3rds back in the middle.. 85 85 85 82 82 89 no problems

| You need to go to a "Calibrated Dub Stage". Follow the guide lines here: NEW UPDATED Room Calibration for Film and TV Post - Digi User Conference Look at the new Post on the Sticky and follow it. Play back "Band Pass Pink" and adjust your meter.
