| Dolby E to DA88 I'm hoping someone can help. I have an HDCAMSR 23.98 master. Channels 1/2 LT/RT 3/4, Stereo M/E 5/6, Dolby E containing 5.1 mix. I need to make a 29.97 DA88 with tracks 1-6 having the 5.1 and tracks 6/7 having LT/RT. I'm being told that this has to be done in two steps. Could the LT/RT not be dumped at the same time as the Dolby E is being decoded provided that proper delays are used? |

| The work flow you describe could be done in one pass. Just make sure that you have pre-stripped the DA-88. You might run into some issues with the 23.98 vs 29.97 time code difference. The seconds will match, but the frames will not. Also, the Dolby -E stream isn't really a suitable archival format. Do you not have the source that created the Dolby-E? Randall Quote:

| For a Dolby-E stream that would be correct. But it sounds like he will be decoding it and laying the resulting decoded 5.1 stream on to the DA88. Randall |
