Dialog trax not playing?

Anyone have any issues with certain tracks not playing during playback, but then you scrub that track and then playback again and it works fine? It's done this to me twice now on totally separate sessions (not to mention separate computers), and on both sessions it was a dialog track. Usually a system restart will remedy this, but that gets annoying, as does trashing prefs. Could it just be corrupted files? Thanks.

I see similar things from time to time, usually its a plugin that stops passing audio. Check plugin versions. A quick fix is to disable the track, and then re-enable it.

I had this problem with an older version of Altiverb. The newer version seemed to fix it.

If you eliminate plug-ins as the source of trouble, you may have luck opening a new session, then importing your old tracks into the new (empty) session. I've occasionally seen sessions behave in stupid ways that defy explanation, and this workaround often helps. You'll have to import your memory makers (if you use them) separately.

Try changing your buffersize in the playback engine, then press ok. After that you set the buffersize back to the original value and press ok again. This kind of resets the playback engine, sometimes that works.

I've had the same issues once.. when I opened the plug-in on the track, the audio playback reset and everything worked after that. It happened with the Filterbank EQs
