mexico broadcast standards

Hi all!

Googling proved unsuccesful;

Can one of you gearslutz please inform me about mexican broadcast standards?

What metering is used? (Please, don't let it be VU What's the expected level, both on the meter and in dBFs?

Is in mexico the US standard of 0 dBFs= +24dBu?

Thanks!!

Mexico has officially accepted the ATSC standard for 2009.

To answer your question, yes!

-20dBFS = 0 dBVU = +24dBu

Just like with any station here in the US or In Europe, your safest bet is to have your client contact the station and get their spec sheet. -10dBFS is a pretty safe level to shoot for, but it won't mean a whole lot if the channel your show is going to has specific Dx Norm values.

Yup, but I'll be doing a live location recording in a mexican truck.. I just need to know what meters I can expect and what those meters mean.. I'll figure it out, but it's always nice to have some information beforehand..

Thanks!

And, thusfar, for worldwide live and live to tape broadcasts, I have not encountered dialnorm requests or specs....

Sorry to nitpick, I am sure this was a typo...
But just to clarify:

-20dBFS = 0 dBVU = +4dBu

0dBFS = +24dBu

If someone ever googles this or something; turns out they use U.S. style dorroughs VU (with peak) meters, and U.S. style levels ( nominal -20dBFs with a bunch of headroom, so program around 0VU, +4dBu ) peak levels I did not ask, but I assume limiter at -10dBFs..
