Problem using Machine Control in PT for a Panasonic D5 AJ3700-b

So....I have my 9-pin goin out of my sync I/O to the input of the deck. I try to select my 9-pin option in peripherals but it is grayed out. Anybody want to educate me on this?? I know there is probably a lot of stuff I am missing since I've never used this deck nor MC. Somebody please clue me in......Thanks!

Do you have an asset for Machine Control on your iLok?
