| bounced out video I have a cartoon that I just finished putting audio into (using protools) with SFX, ambience and music and bounced it out as a .mov file. Now the finished product is completely silent. I used as many tracks as I could in protools just like any project, the video is a separate track and the additional imported audio is cued but when I bounce it out as a .mov (I have tried .wma also) when I watch the finished film, I have no sound in it at all. Can anyone advise as to how I can get my project to have sound after bounce? Thanks MM |

| most likely it's user error, like some solo or mute switch engaged. you say the video is separate, what do you mean? I've only worked in pro tools with the video in the timeline on the video track. also, i'm wondering how you can bounce a wma movie, since PT only supports quicktime? |

Also, the option is for quicktime but during the bounce out confirmation....there is a drop list that offers .wma which I tried after the quicktime movie file offered no sound 4 times i tried bouncing it out. I have nothing muted or solo'd. ![]()

| You checked that you were bouncing out the correct output?

| You could just export the audio as an AIFF or WAV and use Quicktime Pro to add audio tracks to the .mov file.

| When you use the Bounce to Quicktime Movie option, the first option is to select your "bounce source". You need to select the audio output here. |

| Oh. OK. Well, we were trying to help.... Does Pro Tools on PC have "Bounce To Quicktime" or is that a Mac-only feature?

| Thanks Bill, good to know (not that I even know how to power up a PC, much less "Bounce to Quicktime") :)

| are you attempting to watch your bounced video using quicktime? if so...are you sing quicktime pro? if so, open the video and hit cmd+j (ctrl+j on pc) or go to windows-> show movie properties. check to see that you have a compatable audio codec installed on your system. i would start by downlaoding the free Avid-LE codecs, V1.6 is the current release. there are also a few really good comprehensive codec packages that have dozens of codecs...from AC-3 to mp3, sorenson, etc... all good things to have.

Thanks Joe. Wasn't my intention to seem abrupt. I appreciate all the answers. It was actually for a project that was due the next day and I was a little worried as to why something, that seemed a no brainer, wasn't working properly and had to find some way to answer and it seemed that all the parameters were sufficient to have it bounce out with sound integrated but wasn't and thought I'd burden you guys no longer with trying to answer since the deadline was up. I'll check the output bounce for sure. Something about that sounds like it could be the culprit. Cheers :-) Mike (PS - Can't wait to know as much as all of you in regards to protools....this is such a great site and seems like i have many virtual instructors... ....thx)
