Problem with quicktime movies

I originally posted this thread on the Digidesign DUC forums but it doesn't seem like anyone knows what might causing it. I figured I would ask here as well and see if anyone has stumbled across this.

I have two directors that have handed me a quicktime of their film. For some reason when I put the video online and press play, the timeline does not move and I get a box in the middle of my screen that says "Press spacebar to stop playback..." I can't do anything while this box is on the screen except watch playback. I don't have the ability to edit with picture. I thought it might have been my ProTools but I opened a different session from another project and the video works perfectly fine. It's only these two quicktimes. Does anyone have any ideas? I took a screenshot to help you get a better understanding of what I am seeing.

Double click on the movie to open it in QT. If the movie inspector is not showing, open up the window drop-down menu and select "Show movie inspector". What does the format in the movie inspector say? PT works best with DV-NTSC.

You might want to update to the latest version of QT (7.4.1). 7.4 had some problematic bugs.

Thank you for the prompt response. I just received an e-mail a few seconds ago explaining how to fix it. Apparently the quicktime priority was set to high.

---------------
Under preferences - Quicktime movie playback priority is set to HIGH.
Try medium or low. Depending on your version of Pro Tools this might
be called something slightly different - but the guts are the same.
