Voice Emulation

We had a client call and ask about voice emulation. I have never looked in to something like this and don't know what exists or how good any of it is if it does exist. I'm going to be searching around myself but wanted to see if anyone here knew of anything. Is there something that could be used to make someone's voice sound like someone else's? I realize it's a bit of a dumb question, and I'm not expecting there to be anything like we see in science fiction.

Any help would be appreciated!

are you looking to get different, but still natural voice? if that's the case, you can shift the voice formant in melodyne a bit. there's a demo version, so you can try it.

Yes. She wants the voice to sound like another person not artificial.

Her example (and it's ridiculous) is that a guy reads a script but the voice sounds like George Bush. I'm just trying to find something that can manipulate a voice enough to make it different but not sci fi or computerized.

My opinion overall is hire a voice talent that can do impressions.

Hi Frank,
Tell her to wait on George Bush. Soon enough no one will want that voice. However, if she can't wait, opt for the sound-alike. You'll never synthesize all the elements of a famous voice; it's just too complicated. And a W impression can't be all that hard to find.

i agree with the above, it'll be much easier and quicker to just get a voice actor. otherwise, i just read about this thing called vocaloid you might want to check out. i don't think you're gonna find any voice synth that has a GWB preset, though.
