Better DeEsser than Waves

I've been using the Waves RDeEsser but I find it very muddy. What's a nice clean DeEsser to replace it with? Has to be PT compatible.

I'd wait for the Eiosis & try out the UAD Precision De-esser.

Are you strictly working plugins? Are you adverse to hardware recommendations?

I'd prefer to keep it in the plug-in realm. UAD has latency issues in PT though , or have they fixed that?

The Digi III De-Esser

The Sony Dynamics with Side-Chain

and the platform independent :

SPL Dual Channel Auto Dynamic outboard De-Esser.

or the great but expensive one from Weiss.

what we tried recently was the Waves API 2500 with tone control on medium or loud. medium was very subtle and did take care of the esses nicely. only plug i've ever liked for that.

frankly, i have not tried Oxford with sidechain. the Waves 2500 on med and loud engages a side chain filter according to the manual.

look forward to trying the new Elio de-esser, but the 2500 gets a thumbsup IMO.

Digi III isn't a bad solution, but IMO, Waves Ren De-esser is better.

The E²Deesser is ready now for beta testing (even if the algorithm still needs some fine adjustements).

If some of you would like to beta test the E²Deesser, just send me a PM !
It is available in TDM, RTAS and AU formats for OSX only for the moment.

Also, we will make some video tutorials to explain how the E²Deesser works. If someone here would be able to record some spoken phrases in english to be used in the videos.. PM me also !

I've been very pleasantly surprised by the UAD de-esser. I didn't expect much at first, but the way how it ate the esses without hurting the clarity made me send them my money.

NOMAD FACTORY

I have used tons of de-essers and the only one that i found that cuts the esses out accurate for pc is the nomad blue tubes bundle. the de esser is so accurate you can crank it up removing every ess in the track then slowly reduce it till you have the sound you want. and it cuts the ess-es out with out effecting the rest of the track....this is what works for me hope this helped
