Thread Starter | Who edits the dialog?
In my limited experience the video editor would sync the dialog while editing the footage. In typical professional work-flow, who is responsible for ensuring the dialog is matched/synced with the video edits? The dialog editor... got it. What about smaller projects or other work arrangments? |

Hopefully the sync dialogue was ingested properly at the facility. After that, the film editor may sometimes make adjustments when necessary. Next, hopefully things go smoothly during picture>sound department turnover and the OMF is in sync. Eventually it's up to the dialogue editor and the dialogue mixer to ensure that all sync dialogue and ADR are in sync. On smaller projects, it's up to whomever it's up to, really.

Thanks for the words.... by ingested, I assume you mean that it is the job of those who import the video to include the production audio recordings synced to image. |
