According to others, 23.98 and 29.97 operate at the same speed. This means that the audio will achieve audio/video sync despite differences in timecode display.

That's my understanding based on previous posts within this thread. Users with more expereince would be helpful to correct any misunderstanding or confirm the above statement.
I see what is being said about speed. My question is how to do it without changing the frame rate of my project. I need to keep it in 23.98 to avoid messing with my automation. The DA88 will just yell at me that the timecode is wrong if I put out 23.98 for it to sync to.

Could you explain what you mean by this? Are you working in Pro Tools? How will changing the framerate in your session affect the automation?

I am working with a Fairlight Constellation-XT. The frame rate of the project is the same as the frame rate of the automation in the console. If I change the frame rate of the project the automation moves will be off.

I don't know anything about Fairlight workflow but... could you not export the project at 23.97 with automation, create a new project set to 29.97, import files, and then dump to DA88?

Yes, I could lay back and re-load the audio. I'm just wondering if there is a way to lay back to a DA88 with 29.97 timecode without the extra steps. For an hour long program I'd be looking at an extra 2.5 hours of work. Time is money.

video sync

Hello all,

iīm editing the sound of a video, thatīs originally recorded in video, the editors are working at 29,97. Iīm workin with Protools with the Time Code Rate at 29,97 but thereīs another rate thatīs called Feet+Frame Rate that i was ate 24, but thereīs the option of putting it at 23,976 or 25. I know that i should be at 29,97 but iīm not sure about this other Rate. Another info is that the video will be finished in filme, and the mix will be done with the video out of this film.
Could someone help me about this? Thank you very much.
Camila
