Thread Starter | Interesting free Sound FX websites... www.soundsnap.com The idea is very nice. The FX can be used freely in either non-commercial or commercial productions... I've only listened to a couple of sounds, most were poor quality, but there were also some good sounds. Another nice thing is you don't have to register or log in to download! And another one, this one requires registration to download though (not such a big deal offcourse): http://freesound.iua.upf.edu/ |

| public domain sounds | free sound library Public domain sounds, contribution-based. Maybe these pages should be listed in Where else to go as a gearslut! by the way, word has it that freesound's license will stop sucking in a bit, they will allow cc-by, cc-by-nc (crap) and public domain as licenses source: The Freesound Project :: View topic - Freesound 2.0 |

Yes, but I'm still worring about copyrights of sounds, which are uploaded there. I wanted to find the exact info about it, but perhaps it is may lack in understanding official documents written in english... Should I worry about it? | |

There is that potential for copyright violation---but I can't imagine what the incentive would be for people in the post industry to upload sounds from licensed libraries to a free site. Unless they're just downright mischievous, of course. FWIW, I haven't yet run across a single sound there that I recognized as having come from any of my many libraries. |
