| Lives for gear | encryption type sounds..?.. Hello everyone. I'm starting to record an album with a band that wants to have a encryption / code breaker theme. They are thinking about mixing audio of this type of stuff into or between music tracks. Anyone have a line on some audio like this? Any place I should look online? Thanks, ERic

| Lives for gear | Thanks Charles, ahh. Yes. I hadn't thought about that. I'm really curious about the sounds that an original enigma machine might have made.. Now, where to find such sounds ERic |

| Ahh, the sound of factoring large prime numbers... :-) For mechanical sounds you could add some effects to and old dot matrix printer, a Benson plotter (or any plotter). Plotters actually sound pretty cool. Maybe modem handshakes. Or, the sound of data encoded on old commodore 64 tape drives might be cool. I remember Pakacuda sounding neat when listening to it. For once, cell phone interference might come in handy, as well. Sounds like a cool project. |
