small screen, quiet projector, small budget ????

my mix room is 18 feet from front to back and 22 feet wide. the C24 is on the 22 foot wall, so i only really have abut 113 feet from future screen position to the back wall where the cleint would sit. Any suggestions on a small screen, small quiet projector on a small budget?????

by the way.... that is "13" feet not 113 feet. that would help.

Are you planning on putting the speakers behind the screen, or in front? A perf screen is more expensive. Try Draper Cineperm, or DaLite perf screens. There are also Stewart Screens( I think they are really pricey). How big a screen image you want will determine the distance from the projector. My Studio is a similar size, and 6' was the throw I needed for a 6' screen. Are you going to project HD? Will the room be dark? I like lights on while I mix, so, I needed a projector that was bright enough to combat the anbient lighting.

yeah... i guess i could have given more detail.

here is a side profile pic of the room. (( BTW i have dumped the JBL 4328's and the SUB4312 and switched to BLUESKY SYSTEM 1 5.1, one of the best decisions so far!!!!)))

i would like to hange the screen just above the 2 cinema displays up to the cieling. It will block he view into the live room on the other side of the glass, so I'm looking for somthing that can retract up into the cieling.... like a 60" diag screen. I don't think I'll need a perf screen. I'll need to project in 720p as I'll be using the quicktime firewire out option in PTLS to a canopus box then out svideo.

As for the lighting, you can see in the pic the can's in the cieling, but I keep things pretty dark when i mix, so I wont need it to bright. The only sunlight that comes in is in the live room and those get blacked out when i want by shades.

I did read about some paint for super flat surfaces that works good, but I can't find that post again. I was thinking about buying an old cool looking picutre frame and framing in a piece of painted super smooth surface and hanging it like a picture and projecting onto that. just a thought. I guess my main concern is not buying "too much" for just exporting a 720p quicktime, and buying too little and getting a really loud crappy projector.

If perf isn't a problem, I would definately check ebay for retractable screens. I've seen some dirt cheep screens there. Still, look at Draper or DaLite non perf there. I would look at some projector sales sites on line, many of them have tutorials of what to look for in a projector. As for noise, you are probably looking at building an enclosure. They all have fans that make noise.
