| Gear Head | first post... good books/videos for post production Alright, this is my first post on the forums. I have been addicted, and reading hours a day for months. I am going to school currently for audio engineering, and I'm planning on moving to LA when I am done with school. I have always been mainly interested in the music side of audio but have also been interested in making movies as well. Anyways I figured a happy medium for me to start with would be post production audio and maybe a little bit of film editing. So if any of you have any good recommendations on DVD's or Books for Post Production with programs such as Pro Tools or Logic please let me know. In fact any books worth reading please let me know. I am willing to read anything that will provide me with more knowledge than i have now. (just a very basic but good post foundation, adr, sync, sfx, foley). I did a quick search but i figured a more up to date reply would be better. Thanks ahead of time, your responses are very appreciated. - Ian Datz aim:enthawizeguy email:enthawizeguy@yahoo.com Last edited by EN tha Wize Guy; 16th May 2007 at 01:11 PM.. Reason: added aim sn |

| Gear Head | also, if anyone could suggest any other websites/forums that are worth checking out that have post production topics, it would be great. I figure I'd get all my small questions answered right off the bat so I won't have to waste space making numerous posts. |

| The Practical Art of Motion Picture Sound (3rd Edition) by David Yewdall. That would be a good place to start. |

| "Sound for Film and Television" by Tomlinson Holman on Focus press. You may also want "5.1 up and Running" by the same author. I have a great article by Walter Murch as a PDF. PM me and I'll send it on. Also, http://duc.digidesign.com/showflat.p...fpart=1#529464 That should keep you busy for a while.
