Hi, Nuendo user here.. thought i'd share this in case it can help someone.. Is very handy when cutting up numerous adr/fx/field recording! There is a one step solution for exporting multiple audio regions as individual audio files with region names as file names. Fades, "clip volume", and "clip volume envelope" are rendered into each file also.. Track volume/automation/inserts are not. Simply Export as OMF using the following settings (also see JPG attached): Consolidate Events Handle Length = 0 ms OMF Ver 2.0 Export Media File References Export Clip Names Export Sample Size = "Same as Project" This will render the selected regions (chosen via OMF exp dialogue) nice and tidy to the chosen directory, and of course the OMF file can be deleted afterwards. Note that even regions which are crossfaded are exported with crossfades intact, although still as seperate files.. (ie. if region_A is crossfaded with region_B, the resulting region_A.wav and region_B.wav, when arranged consecutively, will yield the same audio as the two original regions crossfaded together. A solution to this is to convert each of those groups of crossfaded regions to parts. The part name will be used as the filename during the OMF export. |

Good tip insomniac! Will save me a lot of time as I usually export a mixdown for each clip. Thanks Steven

This would be great for dialog exporting for games work. I had to track and cut temp dx for three characters about two weeks ago, and while I did something faster than rendering each as a mixdown, this would still be faster. Thanks for the post!

Had I read that thread when it was created, I'd saved quite some hours of exporting stuff recorded with my good old Nagra 4.2. I doubt I'll use that great machine much in the future...

These days, with version 5, the batch export options can be used too. put cycle markers around each region or group of regions etc, name the marker. Use the naming scheme to give the exports names like project_effect_version.wav In the prefs you can even adjust the default metadata for the bwf exports Nuendo is killing it right now

Agreed. Have been doing batch exports in N5 of processed dialog tracks (in mono) and my mix of room sound (in stereo) for a TV show I'm recording. Define your regions, sort out your naming scheme, make sure you're mixing down the right channels to disk, and press GO! Make coffee. Twenty minutes later I have a couple of hundred Broadcast WAV files, all correctly named and numbered and ready to send to the editor. Probably saves me two hours each time, and avoids mistakes caused by the mindless drudgery of doing it manually. |
