pitch bend/corrent in PT - a envelope based plug?

Curious what you guys recommend for pitch bend/correction with ENVELOPES as RTAS plug.

Charles, I've wanted to pick up Pitch N' Time for a long time. Based on what else is out there now, including Digi's latest offering, do you still feel Serato's plugin is the best? The only thing holding me back at the moment is the $799 price tag for the Pro version. I was impressed with it when I demoed it, ver nice control.

But what about the others, such as Melodyne, Pitch Doctor, etc? Anyone use these and have feedback on them?

Steve-

I have been using PnT for a while now- $795 is a lot but I bought it from Alto Music who discounts pretty nicely.

As far as competing products go, I had Speed, which I sold after getting PnT. I do think the PnT has way more features and is a lot more flexible. I have not used MeloDyne, but it seems to be really a more music related product, It is very powerful, but I do not love the idea of having ot as a separate program running alongside PT- I might add, I loath ReWire as well. The Waves pitch plug-in, I would expect to sound great, but I will not buy their products because of their support policies. (which is a drag, because I support Israeli industries whenever I can).

Serato is a really great company though and I love their products! Kiwi's Rock!

Yeah, for a while Melodyne was a seperate entity, so I never really used it either, even though I have a light version of it. Now they have it as a plugin, so I was curius if anyone had used it in this regard.

I hear ya on the Waves front. I do still use their plugs quite a bit, but the policies do make you a little lighter in the wallet.

I'm not fully satisfied with my pitch processing that I'm using now, so I'll be in the market to get something new in the near future, so I'll probably take another look at Serato.

Has anyone used X-Form from Digidesign yet? I have the free Timeshift plug they put out, but as of right now it doesn't support Audiosuite preview on PTLE, so it's a little tough to use. Curious whether the quality is up there with a product like Serato's. It is cheaper at $495, but I tend to rather spend the extra when the quality difference is substantial, so any comparisons would be helpful. I'll probably download the demos soon and do a comparison myself if I get time.

Steve-

I forgot to mention X-form...

It does sound pretty good, but it odes not have enveolope control of the signal

I would demo all of them and choose the best one for what you do.

Yeah, the envelopes feature is pretty important. In fact, that was what I loved when I first tried Pitch N' Time.

So many great tools to buy, not enough money falling from the sky....

Check Alto out- I think I got it for around $600.00... that was a couple years ago though.

It is worth the money...

Just checked them out. They have it listed for 489.00 which is a lot cheaper than anywhere else. I have an email into them to confirm that the price is for the Pro version as oppoed to the LE version that they came out with. If that is the case, they are beating most people's price by hundreds of dollars. And suddenly, it is a lot more attractive.
