Good. Maybe some high profile big guns is what we need to get these criminals accounted for. Maybe Congress will be more motivated to act if they know things like this affect bands they know! (who doesn't know Pete Townshend?)

I think people that run websites such as this, in this sort of way, are the people who should be targeted. Though I don't really agree with making an example to prove a point, it is much more productive to pursue these types of people/websites than it is individual uploaders/downloaders. It all comes down to platform, take that away and there is nothing left on a large scale.

You're right. "Pursuing the suppliers rather than the users" is a well tested strategy, and the Protect IP and SOPA laws appear to be written to that strategy. |
