Only for construction, but like I said before I lost the count of it, it could be 10.000 less or 10.000 more.

I think he is asking how much did you spend on cabling and construction alone, but you already answered that.

Any updated Eduardo?

Another Rack N Roll assembled

I have the HVAC lids ready to be screwed
I'm gonna need help on these they're very heavy.

Control room HVAC machine lid

It will fit here

This is where the infrared sensor will be installed.
It has an isolation box behind

You can see the isolation box in this pic (as in the first one) and the wire that goes from the machine through the box sealed with acoustical sealant

Recording room lid

Where it will fit

Awesome ! thanks for sharing

You mentioned that you'd used Pilchner. What was their level of involvement. Was it only drawings, rendering etc or was someone there at your place physically.Could you give a rough estimate (in %) of how much one would have to budget for a consultant.
Also I bet you must have done your research on accoustics before starting. Some of the major concepts like the physical implementation of absorption, diffusion ,etc have been covered in many studio-building threads here. What advantage did Pilchner bring. If there is something you're not wanting to share publicly you can PM me

In the beginning I was being helped by Russ Berger the man himself.
It all started when I asked for a quote to do the drawings and he said that at the time he couldn't grab this project. I thanked him the same and he then replied that he would help me unofficially. It was a great gesture. But after some emails, I must have asked too much and he stopped answering my emails. Anyway, it was great to talked to him.

So after I asked for quotes and talked to acoustical consultant companies, I chose Pilchner-Schoustal, they did the project (the drawings, rendering, all the support for the construction whenever I had doubts.

There wasn't anybody at my place physically because I live in Portugal and having someone from the US would make the costs rise way too much.
There was one acoustical company that said that they would have to come here and that would cost a lot of money, if I remember the quote of one of the companies, the first visit was about $US 3000,00.
Pilchner-Schoustal was one of the companies that agreed to make the project without coming here to Portugal, with the condition that I drew the empty space in CAD.
I learned CAD since I had never used it, and did the drawing of it.
After that it was just exchanging a lot of emails, with what I wanted from the studio, how I work, etc.
Then after the first sketches we talked several times about the design of it and finally the finishes.
At this point I have more than 100 emails received from them and +/- the same sent.

I have done a lot of research on acoustics before during and after the project was done.
I learned a lot from the project and from what I read.

The main advantage that Pilchner brought to me was that they did the all drawings with the right measures, the right absorption, and the design that I do like very much.
It was less the 10% of the total cost.
For the quality of the work and their support I think that it is a good price, I know also that it was a very special price because they had never worked with anybody from Portugal and the perspective of doing a bigger one in the future.

Eduardo-thanks for such a comprehensive answer..exactly the information I wanted. The reason I asked is because I helped one of my accquaintances in Asia to get in touch with a US based Accoustics firm. The issue was that the construction used there was quite different (like plastered internal walls) and it was totally different from US construction & things didnt go too well.Good thing that your basics in accoustics were good.

Even with the new furniture, I'm wondering how long it will take you to stack gear to the ceiling in your new place

The room in your avatar looks pretty packed LOL

The original height was 280cm without the 2 beams that are lower, and now it is about 240cm in the highest places.
