To make you more nuts then... I start to build my own studio too, budget $400,000... it will have a recording room of 60 m2, second room of 36m2, 3 iso booths, a grand piano and all new equipment...
we do it not for business but will be a private studio

EduardoApolonia thanks for sharing your story with us.
You a truly inspiration and has give me some ideas what to do with our new studio... we start to build in september and hope to finish for the end of this year...

I noticed quickly with my ears but I measured it to know exactly where (frequency-wise) was the problem.
They didn't help me yet, they first suggested a modification to the back panel but that wasn't the best solution, now I've been waiting for a new one for some time now

Eduardo,

I just read all of this, it's amazing. I hope your problems can all be solved quickly and without to much further cost to you.

Why don't they make 30 hour long documentary's about this kind of stuff?

Good luck.

Found this thread tonight and OMG.. couldn't stop reading! What an amazing studio. A little nicer than my bedroom setup: Macbook, Fireface 400, Edirol midi keyboard and Tapco monitors. :P
Good luck with your projects and thanks for a very inspiring two hours of reading! :D

While I don't have a solution I'm using a Sub to conpensate for the hole, although it increases the frequencies near too so it's more like making it more balanced.

What kind of updates do you guys want?

I only have pics of new gear like guitars, bass, amps. Not much of new recording gear.

Geez, I don't know where to start!
Read the whole thread from start to finish and what an amazing journey.
It have been really incredible to follow your ups and downs to the very end, and the result are nothing short of stunning.

I, too, am really sorry to hear about your dogs. Gald to hear you decided to get new ones though, although nothing can ofcourse truly replace what have been lost.
I'm getting a Japanese Spitz puppy in a month and I'm really looking forward to it.

And the HCM stuff… WOW!
What a awsome sound!
Can't wait to hear more.

I wish you good luck with everything
and I'm really happy that you are able to live your dream.

I can't lie, Eduardo, but everytime I scroll through this thread, I suffer from major gear/studio lust... I don't even play guitar and your amp and guitar collection still makes me just go "WOW!".

Have you ever heard of the Fender PS400?

It might be nice to have besides the two bass amps.

Hi I'm building a recording studio and the wall behind the listening position i wish to make it with Broken Surface Travertine Mosaic tiles are they bad for acoustics ?

are they great for diffusers ?
should i need diffusing ?
the room is 10ft by 16ft with 7ft height should it be more than 7ft?

I started building a small studio-broken_surface_mix_travertine_mosaic.jpg

I have gone through it more than you

The EVH sounds very good, I like very much the saturation.

I never heard one, and for what I've seen it wouldn't be easy to find one to listen.
But right now I don't have more room for bass amps

No, it sounds a different. A mix of a 5150 with a plexi I dare to say...

You should ask that on the Studio construction & acoustics forum if you haven't already.
Here isn't the right place for that.
