It's funny to see how much cable you actually have in there.

That's something that I haven't thought a whole lot about - until I see it coming up from those wood panels (nicely, BTW).

Really nice pics, though. Can't wait to hear some new material (some heavy stuff, I hope!).

Take care.

Was a joke from my side too, cause I'm from Holland

Ah, actually it hadn't had anything to do with me being from Holland, but it just sounds good.

But if they're building windows the same way they build microphones...

Wow, so I just spend roughly 90 minutes reading the whole thread from page 1, well worth it!

Thank you very much for sharing this, it's reallly appreciated, and also, can I say, you really handled yourself very well, I would have gone through the roof and probably kicked some of those contractors into oblivion, but you kept your cool, congratulations!

Now the thing I am wondering about most is, have you been able to hear music in your room? If so, are you happy with the results?

Eduardo, amazing job my friend! Good for you! Quality is something that has started disappearing fast and it's nice to see that some people at least strive for it, all over the world!

I am starting construction as well very soon (hopefully I will get some pics ups when the project's on) so I wanted to get your feedback as far as timing. How long did it take you to get to this stage? How long do you think you have left? Is everything according to plan or did it take you much longer than anticipated?

Again, congrats on a great looking place (and congrats on the cool gear as well!!)

If you read previous posts you will see that I have already listen and did some measuring and I have to do some changes in the back basstrap.

If you read the thread from the beginning you will see that it started in November 2006 and it's almost done, I can say that it is done, just some minor things that can be done later.
So it was about 1 year and a half, I thought that it would be done in 6 months
The biggest problem was coordinating the timing of different companies and ordered material.

Wiring is finished, I finally managed to do all the wiring, wasn't a easy task, I have read before of the difficulty of doing it, but I never thought it was like this, what I nightmare, and my patchbays are all DB25 on the back.

Some pics of cabling for you to have an idea

Back of the Rack 2bay

Back of the patchbays

Also the gear is all in place (except for an Urei 1178 that I'm waiting)

The final rack bay that I hadn't take a pic
3bay rack - Centre bay

Both side racks pics

Hello Eduardo, your studio project is truly inspiring. I really look forward to the

updates that you post on this forum. I have a question though. Does the side

firing nature of the Barefoots' woofers contribute in any way to the low frequency

problem that you are experiencing?

That is a lot of wiring, sir!

Very nice to see the racks all at once - very neat & organized!

Thanks for sharing the new pics, sir.

Take care.

First post, whoohooo!

First off i wanna congratulate you, looks like an awesome studio without a doubt!

Second i do have a question...How much have you been set back work-wise throughout the buildingproject? For example how much you should have been producing/recording/mixing/mastering if you wouldnt have been at the new place, and/if how you've been working while you've had your gear at the new place doing all the wireing and installations.

Oh, I 've read the whole thing!! More than once!!! HA HA HA!!! I was just curious about the construction pace. Was there work everyday? I think I remember you saying that you hadn't done major work for it for a few months (am I wrong?).

So, assuming that you had the required materials upfront and one dedicated crew to put this together (with your help, of course) do you think you could have done in 6 months as you planned? Or sooner?

Eduardo, first let me congratulate you on being (almost) done with this awesome project.
Also I was wondering if Argosy made those perforated rack blank panels, couldn't find them on their site and they look good for airflow.

Eduardo,
You must be very happy with your acomplishments. I just spent the last hour or so reading and skimming over and over you thread. I do have to say when I got to the amp pic I yelled out loud. WOW
Good luck in your ventures and cant wait to see the drum kit all polished up on your new rug.
Peace
Tom

It seems my post got lost... so IŽll just ask again.

Hey Eduardo, with all the hard work and stacks of money this is costing you... one wonders;

Is your studio, your full time job?

Is that what you do for a living, or is this just a very serious hobby and side-income?

Do you rent out your studio for other engineers to work there, or do you do all the recording/mixing?

Anyways... looks awsome, hope youŽre enjoying the hell out of it!!

Eduardo !!!

The wiring looks sick !! Are you doing all your own db25 clamping and xlr soldering???

Very clean looking. Nice pro install

No worries about the occasional bug, it's bound to happen.

Enjoy your upcoming tracking and mixing!

I love the contradicting title of this thread, I just noticed it today. This beautiful studio is anything but a "small studio".

I know! Bummed about that myself. Oh well!!

Hey Eduardo, I was just wondering, did you get any gear from the US? (with US voltage). I think I remember reading something about you ordering something from the US (compressor??). Anyways, did you get the stuff with european voltage built-in or are you using transformers? Just curious how that is working for you.

Cheers!!! Post more pics !!! you should be 99% done now right?

And I had already answered to it but I'll do it again.

This is a serious hobby, and side-"not income"

I do all the recording/mixing, I don't (at least at the moment) rent it.

I got gear from US before and now but I bought it all in a 230V version.

I can say that I'm 99% done, recordings are starting this weekend!!!!!
