There is one other guy on the other side of the door you can't see.

Long term, and trust me on this, you are going to be much happier you chose real wood for your studio instead of the composite stuff.

Looks like things are coming together very nicely, thanks again for taking the time to post ........ but ......... where are the hot babe beach shots??

I'm really impressed by the quality of the work on your picture.
The guys who build your studio are really really clean and do their job in the perfect way. They really know what their doing.
I use to see places in work which are quite dirty.
The workers could do their job in Tuxedos at your place !

I really appreciate you send pictures of your studio because it helps me a lot to understand what I've done wrong in mine.

Really looking forward to reading the next chapter of your story.

All the best.

Producers platform being built!

you can see the PVC pipe where the wires will come out from the chase ways and connect to the credenza gear rack.

The audio & electrical wire chase ways are going in next week.

Then we are just waiting for the acoustic wall panels to come in and this place will
really start to look nice.

There is still much work ahead but it is really coming together.

The window will be installed in a few weeks from now!!!!!!

We are still shooting for mid January grand opening!

Your progress is very fast. It's amazing what can happen when you have a concise plan and a strong GC.

Just one question, what is a producers platform?

It's a raised platform area to elevate the producer, but basically just a fancy name to hide the wires.

Hey Seti, I'm the guy (Scott) from O'ahu who you spoke with briefly over the phone last year. Maybe it was earlier this year. But anyway, I just caught this thread (at my day job at a hotel) and boy I'm stoked for you. Everything looks sweet!

Keep the pics coming and maybe I'll take a trip out there after the studio's done to take a first-hand look!

Hey Scott

I would love to have you over!

I'm going to setup a gearslut shootout (Hawaiian style) later this year that should be a great time to come over. As soon as I get some solid dates I will let you know.

In the meantime call me anytime you are coming over so we can plan something.

Aloha

wow this was quick and looks beautiful. Did u purchase the Tonelux console? I can't wait to see all the gear installed. I've seen a couple of the tonelux consoles and got to play around with a rack of eqs when ryan let a few people come down to the studio to check out the gear. Great stuff and an eventual goal I'm working towards.

What do the neighbors on either side of u do and what do they think of having a studio moving in next door?

I'm putting in my order for a 32 channel Tonelux with motorized fader’s
and four 96 tt patch bays tomorrow!

Beyond excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Neighbors are all cool and relatively quiet. The loudest sound I have measured with my
SPL meter was 80 db c weighted and I would say the average is about 65 to 70 db
of noise during the day, my designer said this is not a problem. Occasionally someone will drive by with some loud bass in their car (didn’t get to check with my SPL meter). I'm concerned this bass will still get through my walls and materialize as a sub rumble but luckily this rarely ever happens. I’m hoping once I can actually close all the magnetic doors and seal myself in, my isolation worries will disappear.

The cool thing about this place is (being a night person) after 6:00 the place is usually dead quiet and not a soul in sight.

To say the least, I’m very curious about how this will all turn out.

Fingers crossed!

hey seti,
awesome place....and I´d kill for the 32ch. TONELUX!!

btw. what is between your front and the street??
a fence?
actually the very best way to kepp the studio save from that rumble/noise, is to built a nice solid brickwall along the street....this would be the most effective layer you could add!

cheers tom

Lookin great, Seti.

If you plan on doing any Traditional Hawaiian Cultural projects, you'll be really glad you went with a real wood floor.

I have the floating laminate stuff in my tracking rooms, and we struggle to get good sounds on those traditional instruments that have to be beaten on the ground.
