Great doors! It's my first post at gearsluts, i most read, not write, but now i just can't keep silence - those doors are great! Keep on!

It happened again

We had a 5.0 earthquake this morning, it felt like it was going to be another huge one for a second. Everyone was out in the street in a panic,
no injuries or damage just spooked out everyone in Hawaii.

This is very strange!

Hawaii then Japan than Hawaii again in the same area too.

Anyone catch the pole shift show on the discovery channel a few weeks ago?
Trying to stay positive but it seems we are on the verge of a pole shift.

I got some cool pictures on the way things are looking beautiful!

We are heading towards the finish line!

Looks like someones dreams are finally coming true. It looks amazing so far!

There are definitely a couple things you can do to build up the atmosphere of the place, especially on the inside since you are in an industrial area. What do you plan on doing for the theme/furnishings on the inside of the studio?

Regardless, keep it up!

I am pleased that things continue to go well.... you are going to have a dream setup. With all that you are putting into this endeavor I wonder if you own the building & land or you just have a very long fixed lease agreement.

Also, while your dream in under construction are you finding time to make music elsewhere?

We had a pretty good shakeup, too, this morning. Our home is at the closest point on Maui to the fault, and I was still in bed and ran out of the house half asleep and naked. Strange way to begin Thanksgiving.

Went to a large community Thanksgiviing celebration with most of Kipahulu residents. FEMA flew in turkeys and other stuff by Chinook and some local guys hunted a few wild pigs & goats for an imu and the organic farms brought down lots of produce. The road is still physically closed to Hana due to the bridge that got condemned after the last quake, and the only other road on the other side is "officially" closed due to loose rocks from the last quake, though it is just passable, so the communtity is cut off as far a government is concerned and it is nice with no touristas.

Aloha Midnightsun

I have been so busy that I have sort of backed off on all audio projects and I'm just focusing on this studio build.

I got a 3 year lease on this space with the option to renew and we know the owner well. A little scary investing this money into the place and not owning the land the studio sits on but land in Kona is way to expensive. I also saw a great business opportunity, as there is no other pro recording studio in the down town Kona area and no other real commercial studio on the island.

I had to make a decision

I could have bought land away from my family and built a very small house then build a home studio a few years later.

Or

Rent a space and build the only commercial studio in the area and open doors within 6 months.

I was at the point I couldn't wait any longer, so I made my decision.

Well we have made serious progress this week!

The finish floors are done in every room and we installed the rest of the doors late this afternoon.
