| Looks like a fantastic project. Much more organized and properly done than my effort in Wailuku. I own the Holomua Center in Waimea, where Gaspro and Waimea Feeds are located. I'll have to check you out when I get over there from Maui. Best of Luck and Congratilations.

| I have been checking back every couple of hours or so for my fix....ahhhhhhhh....that was good. The place looks like it is coming along very nicely. Keep us posted when you can, thanks.

| We got the framing permit! now putting up the insulation, with fiberglass rash to prove it. Pictures of the sheetrock going up on the way. I'm taking a trip to vegas next week and I will get to all the unanswered questions in the thread.

| This is our view from the lounge (nothing spectacular) You can sort of see the ocean in this picture. We don’t have the best view, being in an industrial area, But At least I know the beach is 1 minute away! I accidentally erased some pictures I took of this beach, I will take some more asap!

| Thanks Seti , I needed my next fix right about now! The place looks fantastic, thanks for keeping us posted. BTW - someone asked this earlier - what product was that first layer you layed down for your floating floor? Cheers!!

| This thread makes building a studio look like a piece of cake. So much so that I think I'll whip one up on the weekend. Great stuff |

| I would consider the Pacific Ocean pretty spectacular. But then my studio is in North Texas on some flat, old farm land. Nothing to look at here but the work... Well, we do have a little koi pond in the back... ![]() btw Seti, you commented about the doors - what kind did you get? I got the Wenger doors in my place, the ones with full glass. They were so heavy, shipping was about 15% of the ticket, and they were not cheap. But closing the doors in here is like locking yourself up in a bank vault. I'll bet anything you can't get on the Island is gonna cost you big time in shipping, huh?

| Ahh. A man after my own heart. This looks really great. So re: the acclimatization period, is that what it sounds like? The oak has to get used to the local climate (which I remember as humid but pleasant), is that right? I assume if you got it from, say, arrid L.A. and you put it right in it could buckle. But this is all a guess. Best of luck with the studio! |

| I'm off to Vegas Update As of today we are done with the drywall. We had a kick ass drywall team slam out the lounge, control room, live room and vocal booth in 4 days! 300 Sheets I siliconed every layer like a mad man, everything should be air tight. It really looks like a studio now! It’s early in the game and it already sounds 1000 times better than my home studio, with no bass traps diffusers ceiling clouds or room tuning etc (just the angles of the walls). The decay of my hand clap sounds very natural, with no flutter echo or weird sounds anywhere in the rooms, it is just beautiful! I’m really digging the angles of the rooms, so far I got a great feeling about the acoustics! When I get back from Vegas we are heading into the final phase of construction. I hate flying, please send me positive energy!

| I may have missed this in all the posts, but are you located mauka of the Ka'ahumanu Highway in the light industrial area below Costco, or makai of the highway in the light industrial area adjacent to Kailua town? We have a timeshare in Keahou and cruise over every March (I'm originally from Hilo). I'll have to stop in and check it out when we are there this coming spring. It's looking good!
