Thanks Jef!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have done gear packages with most of the other
guys in the past and I’m not taking anything away from
them because they were great too. The big reason I went
with Vintage King this time was they were a one stop shop
for Consoles, vintage gear, cables and support for the whole package etc...

I was told some things were on back order and that I had to wait
for some things but that was no big deal, I did the order many months before my studio was done so everything got here when they said it would.

I had a great experience with Vintage King and I highly recommend them!
Damn !!!! That's a nice big fat sale for Vintage King !!!!

Congrats to you AND your sales guy LOL.

Enjoy the fruits of your labor.

ps ... when do we get some session pics ????

Aloha Gearslutz

I have been up and running for a few weeks now.
Working out kinks and getting used to the setup.

Been working from 8:00 am to 1 or 2 in the morning
everyday non stop (my wife is pissed) trying
to get everything all dialed in.

I have had some good buddies come by and help
with some early tests. Getting some good sounds
and having much fun!

We had a few Barefoot listening parties.
Barefoots are amazing it’s like hearing all the finer
details of all my albums for the 1st time.

There are some issues that need to be worked out
but a little more time & money will do it for sure!

At this point I have been realizing as a whole
the project has worked out and my fears
are disappearing.

I will be back in a few weeks once I can calm down a little

It has been a hectic past year on this adventure.

Bigger update coming soon!

Much thanks to everyone involved and thanks for the awesome support Gearslutz.

Ps Tonelux rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very nice...I to must add that it seems weird to have the screens and monitors so high.....looks like you'll almost be standing to mix.

The Divided by 13 amps are cool. I played throughone the other night and it has a very fat break-up and cool tone.

Aloha Seti, Saw your feature in the newspaper today, which led me here. Very cool studio. Its nice that we have another "real" recording studio here on the island. The only other one I am aware of is palm records. Being an audiophile I am really intersted in all things Audio so I cant wait to hear some of your records. I have been getting into slack key stuff lately too so that will be something to look forward to. Great job!

Seti,

I'm looking at your studio in June Mix Magazine, the "studio Design issue". You are part of the "Class of 2007" new rooms feature!

The pictures look great, and your beautiful room fits in perfectly with all those other high-class affairs featured in the article.

It was really interesting to see the pics, and remember this thread from it's beginning. Thanks again for sharing your build with us.

Congrats

I have seen a lot of really good threads on Gearslutz since I've become a member, but this has to be one of the best (if not the best!) that I've seen. Thanks for taking the time to give us all so many details! I've enjoyed reading this immensely!

Man, before I read this, I was thinking the exact same thing. Such a great, inspiring, departure from the same old mundane: "which pre should I get" threads.

This was a thread well worth subscribing to and thanks a lot, Seti, for following this all the way thru. Now please continue with a sample of some stuff you record there

BIG UP Seti. This has been a very very informative & inspiring thead. I'm looking into building my dream studio in about 2-3yrs and to view this thread was what i needed to put certain things into perspective & push on with my plan. I've been doing alot of research so thanks alot for sharing all the invaluable info & pics. Mine will be a Home Studio, seeing as about 90%- 95% of my hits came from my past home studios. Thanks again & Bless.

I was thumbing through Mix at Barnes & Noble and saw a new studio in Hawaii with a Tonelux console, so I thought, "that's got to be that studio from the thread on Gearslutz I read 5 months ago!" Then I remembered the story of trying to hang those heavy ass doors! haha. I guess you could file it under "it's a small world... but I wouldn't want to paint it!" Best of luck! I'll look you up whenever I make it out to there.

I'm back

Wow things have been crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm extremely happy with the studio and learning much every day.
A good room makes everything so much easier!!!!!!!!!!
By the way I have had several engineers come by + one mastering
engineer and everyone liked the rooms so far!

I'm exhausted but the fun is really just beginning!

They accidentally put in the wrong pics in mix mag!
We gave them several pics and accidentally put in some of the crappy older
ones. I guess they ended up picking my crappy camera ones instead????

I had Jeff Ehrenberg from Vintage King come out to install
the faders, as well as teach me some pro tools techniques and a bunch of
other fun stuff. Had a lot of fun, Jeff's an awesome engineer and a great guy too!

Kinks are being worked out and squashed one at a time. I have been taking
on smaller projects with several bigger projects lined up. It’s looking like
I’m going to have a very busy year.

I would like to thank everyone for the amazing support, you guys are great!!!!
I will be sharing more pictures and sounds as well as the new website
soon.

I might have said it already but I will say it again

Tonelux rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got some random pics for yall

Aloha

Heres a shot of the wall mounts for the Cinema screens

we lowered them finally!

These things extend 44 inches from the wall out into the room
and can be moved all over the place.

just warming up

Ok here’s one the last one for tonight

I upgraded to the newer Barefoots
Here’s a quick pic to sort of get an idea of what the place will be like in
surround.

I'm going to put the rear Barefoots on stands on the side
of the credenza eventually.
