Hey the room looks amazing (I am so jealous). Just a small tip; if the drum kit in the pictures is your house kit, you might want to mount the floor tom on its own stand. I work primarily as a drum tech and every time the drummer hits the tom or the ride cymbal, the other will vibrate (considerably more so than if they are on separate stands).

Yes you are definitely right, all the toms need their own stands badly
and that is in the plan. I scored the whole kit cymbals and all for $1500
it wasn’t exactly what I was looking for but at the time the price was right.

I used it at my home studio for a bit and never really liked it, so I was planning
on selling it and getting what I really wanted.

But

When I set it up at my new studio WOW big difference! With a few new pieces I think I can live with this kit for awhile!

I will post some sample drum recordings in the live room
once I get the place all dialed in! My early test jam sessions
have made me very happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now it is not the biggest live room + I’m biased but there is something magic about this live room!
Getting great sounds is going to be a piece of cake and it suits my needs perfectly!

THAT ROOM IS BEAUTIFUL. I dont think you could have done it any better.

Question,

Is this a commercial studio or your own private place?

i am only asking cause I know a few people on that island and they dont exactly think the music scene is very... good. just curious...

Either way, I am sure people would fly in to work there.

Dope place man.

Wow! This place has become so nice, it's amazing what you guys have achieved in the past months! Good to see that the first pieces of gear are starting to fill the racks.

Next set of pics; bikini's and Tonelux?

That really is a beautiful room. I just ran through every page and looked at all the progress again. I really love the black on wood contrast. I may be stealing that soon. :)

Several projects lined up Hawaiian slack key, Rock, Hip Hop and some video projects too.

As far as the market here

This is not the mainland, so we aren't overloaded but yes there are several growing markets that will keep me busy enough.

There is a steady amount of Hawaiian / reggae music that does pretty well out
here and I dabble in rock and hip hop. Over the years I have ran into
all kinds of different music over here. There are many different types of people
so there is a wide variety of music.

I love all music, bring it on!

is it cool to discuss the approximate amount of $ required to build the studio (excluding land, the actual building, and the equipment...just the studio itself) ??

I have been patiently waiting for a crate with the Tonelux console and the rest of my cables etc... to arrive so I can finish the studio and press record.
