Design cost

Hello all,
I am in the planning process for my second small home recording studio here in New Zealand.
It will be a two room ( control and live) garage setup.
I was thinking about hiring someone to give me email and phone support through the build, especially and wall and ceiling construction for soundproofing drums etc.
Can anyone indicate what I would expect to pay for this kind of service?
My full budget is very modest, about $US8000 for the full build, but I can get discounted construction materials through my work and have a good friend that's a builder.
Thanks
JohnG

Maybe do a little research on your preferred designers and, when you have a couple in mind, message them both and ask them.

BTW, as it isnt a photo diary thread, your question should probably have been in this forum: http://www.gearslutz.com/board/studi...ing-acoustics/

Thanks Trev,
Sorry for posting in the wrong section. If an admin could move that would be great.
I don't know any designers apart from John Sayers, maybe some names would be a help?
