Tracking/mix room in rural Australia

Over the next few weeks I'll be transforming my living room into a comfortable one room studio primarily for myself and friends. As the room itself is built, this thread will largely focus on the build of my new desk and acoustic treatment. I'm located in rural Victoria, Australia. The room is approximately 25'x13', with another section approx. 12'x10'. The ceiling is 11' with a pyramid shaped section in the centre peaking at approx. 17'.

As I don't have a huge array of outboard gear, I'll be going for a mastering style desk- 8RU on top with space for computer monitor. The computer will be housed in the back of the desk to cut down on noise and adequately ventilated. Monitors will be on stands. I'll be building the desk with my dad and an engineer friend. I'll post pics of plans and progress shortly.

Attached are 2 pics of the room with most of the carpet taken out in preparation for floor refinishing. I intend to use a natural oil to retain the light colour of the wood. Just from clearing all the s*** out of the room, I've noticed how much more inspirational it is to walk into. Looking forward to getting this project underway. I aim to complete it by the end of Feb. Notice my home made gobos in the corner of the first pic. I will be putting superchunk style bass traps in the corners and 3 additional 240x60cm panels along the back wall (the couch will go)
