Montreal Canada Studio Build

Hey everyone!

About 6 years ago me and my brother built our first studio based on information gathered from this site and a few others. Wev moved into a new house and are lucky enough to have an amazing space that we are able to convert into an even bigger facility and this time were doing things right. Were going to be updating the build everyday, asking questions and hopefully receiving some ideas and feedback.

We actually just got into the house today and i took the first round of pictures. This first batch i have up on the website and will not upload here because they are not anything special, just cleaning, but if your interested feel free to go check them out:

Hopefully some of you are interested in the project and ask a few questions because were still learning a lot! Ill be updating once the building gets underway with pictures but if you visit the blog you'll have more in depth explanations and images!

Thanks again

It looks like a perfect spot to record. I'll be watching. Good luck.

@ Brenton : Thanks a lot! Ya its so much fun even just building this thing up. Cant wait to be in the actual studio once its done.

Day 2:

Today was another pretty general day with a lot of cleaning and prep work. We finally drilled through the cement wall and got a better understanding of the foundation. There are a few pictures up on the blog and a few more pictures but again nothing mind blowing. This weekend we will be purchasing our light fixtures, heating system and designing a vocal/isolation booth for the corner of the boat house!

Check out the blog for a few pictures: http://www.evermooraudio.com/build

Wow! The view outside with the water looks stunning...what a fantastic place to make music :-)

I love the blog - wish I'd kept something as thorough from day 1 of my build :-(

Hope you can keep it going...I'm subscribed anyway :-)

Good luck!

@ Rimshot : Ya we'll definitely keep it going. We finally got internet set up so i dont have to travel 20 minutes to post every night haha! I read through your studio build and its just amazing. Thats my ultimate dream one day to build a studio from the ground up. Luckily me and my brother are pretty young so we have some time but also a lot of learning to do. You must be so excited about your place.

Sorry for the long wait guys! Iv been in the middle of exams and havnt had much time between building and studying. Here are days 3,4, and 5:

We spent the last few days taking down the cement wall and have started the paneling for the door frame. We also designed our broadband absorbers for the room. (based on the design posted by cojo in the bass trap section). Again a lot cleaning, hauling cement and prep work. Here are one or 2 shots of the week, for more visit the blog
