Thread Starter | Wes Lachot design - New Recording Studio in Slovenia (Europe) My dreams come true Hi everybody from Ko?evje, one of the most beautiful places in Slovenia, Europe. My dreams come into reality. Last year I made a contact with mr. Wes Lachot about my recording facility dreams. He is one of the most inspiring people I have ever meet. Wes and his wife Lisa came in Slovenia in the begining of this year. This was unforgetable experience. Soon after that Wes draw a blueprints. My friend Sebastian (architect) is responsible for outside look of recording studio. (attached photos) I have a beautiful and understandable wife and two daughters (8 an 12 years old). I worked as a flight paramedic and emergency motorcycle rescuer in Ljubljana - capital of Slovenia for eleven years. Now I am a supervisor of the emergency unit in Kocevje. I am also a musician (drum player, recording musician) and producer. Now , I am working in my small home studio. I mostly recording various musicians (rock, pop, jazz, funk) and drums for other musicians. Finally I have chance to build my new recording studio from ground up. I am a perfekcionist. I want to build a place where we can enyoj in recording, mixing,.. I will work in this place with my friend Gasper. He is also a multiinstrumentalist and good guy. He will take care about new gear. Dimensions: 17m X 8m X 5m (control room, live room, vokal booth and guitar booth) and lounge with patio Walls: 20cm CMU (Concrete Masonry Units), 10 cm of insulation and 10cm CMU My requirements: 1.) The most important for me is perfect drum room. 2.) I prefer to record live sessions (whole band together) (separated booths, vokal and giutar booth) 3.) Place for relaxation Gear: Digital mixing console: Yamaha 02 R 96 Monitors: Adam s3a, Dynaudio BM5a compact Preamps: Millennia media STT1, Universal Audio LA 610 Finalizer: Finalizer TC 96 K Mics: Shure beta 57, shure 57, Royer 121 (2x), Neumann tlm 49, Rode nt 1000, Neumann mt 184 (stereo pair),... Instruments: DW drums (colector series), Yamaha drums (Rick Marotta hip gig), Godin guitar, I will build this personal studio from ground up near my house. I have a lot of friends (carpenters, electricians, bricklayers) who will help me in this project. All the best, Primoz |

Impressive project - I'm looking forward to see it progress. At it happens. I've had the good fortune to play a lot of concerts in your beautiful country. If you ever should bump into Vlado Kreslin or Vlado Poredos from ORLEK, please pass on my best wishes. Good luck. Mike

Thanks so much to everyone. The temperature is finally above zero. The wall structure is different. 20 cm concrete, 10cm insulation, 10 cm CMU. We started with construction for the concrete walls. Best regards Primoz |
