This is a very common building method in Europe, and not just for commercial structures. As we were discussing building methods and materials, this came up as a viable and sensible alternative, since it's cost effective and obviously offers excellent sound isolation.
The trick of course with concrete structures is you've got to get your modal ratios right, and the bass trapping has to be effective at very low frequencies, since very little low fequency energy is able to escape the building walls.

This control room will be treated in a manner similar to some other rooms we've done, like for instance Charleston Sound and Clear Track Productions (photos are on my website). These are RFZ rooms, using purist RFZ geometry (not just treatment at reflection points). The thing about these rooms that makes them different different from Manifold is the use of a diffsorptive side wall pattern developed by RPG. These side wall treatments help to keep the sound even throughout the room, and we've had real good luck getting the imaging at the rear of the room (on the couch) to sound almost as good as it does at the engineer's position using this technique. This is something I've been working hard at for the past several years, trying lots of different methods to achieve the same goal. For the money, this particular method works really well.

-Wes | I'm wondering if not Chips Davis does something similar now. Though that treatment on sidewalls it's great for even sound throughout the room, I would assume the image and precision suffers a tiny bit in the mixing spot as oppose to redirection only? Redirection should attenuate the reflections more, or am I wrong?
Hope you can share some measurements with the final result.

Just had the opportunity to check out the progress of this studio. It's certainly going to be a brilliant setup in a brilliant side of the country. Thank you to Primož for the hospitality and congrats on (what will be) an amazing build!
Cheers!
