Great job! I really like the stone wall and the door with the logo looks very slick. Cool looking place

Anyway, we got the fabric up yesterday and in a matter of hours all construction jobs will be finished.

![]() With my limited knowledge and budget, we tried to create a sort of non-environment control room, implementing ideas from Newell and Wes Lachot (the big trap on the rear corner). There wasn't space for all the ideas I had in mind (rear trap, ceiling and side walls hangers for example), but so far I think we did a good job with the space we got. The room is now 200% better than what it used to be, the space is so much more comfortable and the flush mounted speakers (a dream of mine) are now a reality. I'm very nervous and anxious about the outcome. Let's see what happens as soon as we plg everything back. Will post an update later today.

Don't wanna mislead anyone of you. The picture I posted is a Newell's design, we took inspiration from it. Later today am gonna posta few pictures. As off last night we're officialy done with all the construction job. In fact we ran to Marco's (client, friend and master carpenter) to pick up our desk and outboard cabinet. They are DIY as 99% of the stuff in the studio, built a few months ago, but needed a good retouch and a few layers of paint. They look stunning in our opinion. Later. |

Here we go. It's pictures time. As you can see we still have to trim it all out and take care of some fabric imperfections. Nothing big. We're wiring the AC now and HVAC is being plugged back in. Our deadline is Friday night. We can pull it off. |

For a studio building slut like me the pictures definitely provide a better fix. ![]() This is coming along nicely. Do you know how much a stone like that weighs / square meter of finished wall? The reason I'm asking is my studio is not on the most solid foundation (it's in a porch with a wooden floor raised by eight concrete poles) but I would love to have a stone wall. The concern of mine is that with ~50 rack units worth of gear, a console, tape machine and all the rest of the stuff the room reaches it's bearing limit if I put too much stone in there. ![]() Anyway, keep up the good work! I'll be watching..

Ours is a middle ground model, made out of gyspum, you apply it with glue, stone by stone and than fix all the joints with its own specific mortar. The total weight is around 13Kg/sqm, so it's still considered a light material. We do have two layers (OSB+ gyspumboard) below it and those are the real front wall. I understand (from his book) that Newell uses real stones with quite a good bit of depth to it, looking at the pictures I would say around the 10cm mark. Our is a thin layer, its maximum depth being a couple centimeters.

Waiting for my sister's wideangle lens to take some proper shots. Mine is a tad bit longer and can't take all the room at once. Oh well...
