You're in Stockholm, right ?? Where is your new studio located...? You have daylight you SOB !!! Daylight, I could kill for daylight !!!
Looking cool, congrats !
Is it ok to ask about the old studio ? Was that part of LBR by any chance ? There have been rumours about LBR closing down, that's why I figured it might be connected.
Good luck with your new studio !

hey rite i'm in stockholm
i used to have my old old studio on top of the big room of LBR (hence little big room studios). then i moved it to my current place on gärdet. LBR are as it is running full speed. there might be a change of owners soon or they gonna close it by november. its a shame cause the main room there was one of the best sounding rooms i ever mixed in. lots of nice stuff too.
the new studio will be on the 5 floor in hammarby hamnen close to the newly developed houses but still in the industrial part with good ceiling height/floor thickness etc
i think its gonna turn out to be a great place
where u at?
hej hej

Good luck Markus!
BTW, did you have an engineer look at the structure to make sure it could support the weight of the floated rooms, etc..? Just something that popped into my head when I read your doing this on the 5th floor....

markus | Cool, you should be fine...
I was going to build my new studio on the second floor of my building in Providence... turns out the beams from the old buidling aren't capable of supporting the weight of a properly built control room... It's looking like I might have to do it in the basement now...
Good luck, man... |

Good luck with the building!
I'm looking forward to seeing this progress. Looks like a great place with plenty of windows. To bad you aren't located in my part of the country, then I could lend you a hand!

hey, looks cool!!
only thing that catched my eye was the 6 ton-comment for 123sqm..
...are you sure ???
I recently planned & built a floated recording room for 2 friends, it was 22 sqaremeter and about 7 tons weight!
just curious!
btw. a daylight studio, surrounded by swedish girls......what can you expect more from life ??? |

hey, pretty sure of all the weights cause all the truck deliveries carries a list of how much it weighs. thaere are dif methods of floating a floor. i use the cdm isolat base (google it) and its also used by many leading accoustic guys here in sweden. also not the full 123 sq meters about half for now with two control rooms, the larger live ares and one of the iso booths. were keeping the concreted for the reflective drum room to give a diff sound from the "deluxe" studio sound in the main live area.
i included a small plan of my studio. not in total detail... but u'll get the idea. the proportions of the live area "mid bottom" is not rite. its approx 3.6*6 with a cut in the upper left corner... 170 cm from the 3.60 line and the same on the width,

Good luck, man... | well tony u should chek out the cdm isolat floating floor beam and maybe consider using two layers of ceminwood with noisekiller in between. gives about 65 db of insulation. more in coupled with chipboard and a hardwood floor ontop. expensive but kool and not at heavy as conctrete.
