Browntheory Studios

Studio I just treated in Toronto. Unfortunately they could not get permission to get pentagon shaped rooms into the unit. So i had to make with what they had. (They changed the name from Culture Shock to Browntheory Today. LOL). The heavy duty monster corner traps are 2 inches of OC704 on the front layer with resined edges for the fabric to wrap in, then 2 inches of rockboard 40 on the next layer, then 2 inches of rockboard 60, then 2 inches of rockboard 80, then a 3 inch air gap, and the then (for anything absorbed proper under 80hz) - a diaphragmatic barium loaded membrane system on two beams (cannot be seen - back of the trap). This is the heaviest duty corner bass absorber available in the world for 90 degree corners. Built with those in mind who rent units but have no choice but to deal with such 90 degree corners). And finally - the guy added cable support to the monster traps. I was not happy about this since these mount on heavy duty wedge plates with at least one stud that can be found always. But nevertheless.
Thanks.

Thanks.

Pro results guaranteed. There has never been a less than 110% satisfied client. And I have returning clients for more diffusers and monster sized bass traps. Which means these products can speak for themselves. After I finish some more paneling at the sides of the control room, the studio owner has agreed to do a write up on my operation.

There are phd's in acoustics mad at me because my diffusor sounds good. And especially mad that neither the human ear nor the microphone can hear the performance difference between my diffusor systems and other tried and tested systems. Perhaps a slight character difference due to the nature of the material, but in fact I have had people get rid of their RPGs and replace them with mine.

Which is why I will now feel confident to set up a pepsi-style taste test for some pro engineers to be blindfolded. For a choice to select between my diffusors and other brands - both for mixing and recording with microphones.

(My diffusors are NOT hollow plastic diffusors - they are a dense gypsum which weighs more than wood.)

For some it requires a pHd in acoustics, for others its a matter of feel and intuition. My enterprise is of the latter.
