Though't i'd re-join and say hi (forgot original username!) When i'm not busy fixing gear mate, my other "thing" is cars, and especially lighting (ok and audio), stay with me here, i've got some wicked stuff you might like 2.1 million colour LED tape, multi zone control via IR remote, and all at 12VDC The build looks like it's coming along though, well impressed with the project. Yes, I am a self confessed gear lunatic...... I'm a guitar player and had a rack Steve lukather would have been proud of...... Anyway... To old for that crap now... Gregs right 3 linked Alan Smart c2s to give individual control over every channel in the 5.1 field for the SSL Vibe 80's pop comp sound which I love, GO WEST, TEARS FOR FEARS remember those mega bands ???? - If your doing a job do it right first time round.... Then go bankrupt..... Marvellous .......... Cheers, the UK equivalent of Alan Sides..... OUT |

1. Get one or more of the big time mics : M49, ELA 251, U47, C12 ( not the VR ) etc. 2. Get yourself some of the classic Pultec EQP-1A and the not least important Manley Massive Passive Mastering Version. As for the rest, GREAT list, can't get any better than this !

We will only buy vintage gear in perfect condition so will wait for the right pieces. We demoed the massive passive and didnt think it was as good as the DW Fearn. Greg

Just to show people some of the other work our architect has done, so you all have an idea of the level that this room will be at. Client List - Recording Architecture Roger says that this room, being his last before retirement is his swan song and therefore will be up there in the top 5 of his career. There has been no expense spared, much to Andy's dismay! |

"Liverpool has always had a certain energy and magic about it. I am very excited about the possibilities of recording in Liverpool on a Neve board:" – Dan the Automator - Artist / Producer for the Gorillaz, Primal Scream and The Killers. "A Neve 88R studio in Liverpool, now that would be interesting" – Dan Bern – American Singer Songwriter "Without doubt, the Neve 88R is the finest recording console on the market and would be an asset for Liverpool." – Tom Misner, Producer & CEO of SAE. "The 88RS is an awesome console" – Buddy Brundo "Like Neve, Liverpool has always held a special place in my heart. It conjurers up memories of the 'Beatles', 'The Searchers' and the whole 60's music scene. I am often asked about Liverpool when working with American bands such as the Smashing Pumpkins. They are always interested in the history of British music and I am sure they would be interested in recording their album in such a famous musical city" Roy Thomas Baker – Producer for Bowie, T-Rex, Rolling Stones, Smashing Pumpkins, Guns and Roses and The Darkness. |

I have a lot of respect for Tom and my comments about the Classic 75 were not a personal attack on him. If I have caused any offence to Tom then I appologise profusely and when I see him ill appologise in person. Things can get misunderstood and taken out of context on here. Like if I said that I was probably bigger than Jesus, id cause offence, but in reality i just mean that im a big 20 stone guy! See what I mean?? Hope all is cool? Greg

6.7 Amps for a console of this size is impressive, nearly unbelievable, even at 220V. Does Neve have a published spec in an install guide, I couldn't find anything on their website? Are the rails +/- 12V??? To be accurate the Encore PC would need to add to this value, but that's probably 1A or less. Just curious how this feat is achieved. |
